Our terms and conditions apply to the following:
1) the entire contents of The Antibody Society website,
2) to any memberhip or subscription information you submit through the website,
3) to any correspondence to The Antibody Society, e.g. by post or e-mail.
Please read these ’terms and conditions’ carefully before using this website or taking out a subscription.
USING THIS WEBSITE, SUBMITTING A MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION, OR REQUESTING A SUBSCRIPTION INDICATES THAT YOU ACCEPT THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
IF YOU DO NOT ACCEPT THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE AS A SOURCE OF INFORMATION, TO SUBMIT A MEMBERSHIP FORM, OR TO REQUEST A SUBSCRIPTION.

1. Joining The Antibody Society
via the online Membership Form and sending the appropriate membership fee to the Society (which activates membership, effective retroactively to the date that the Membership Form was submitted online), to the address and post office box noted under “Terms and Conditions” at the top of this document.
1.1) You will be required to register online on the Society website before your membership dues can be accepted.
1.2) The membership fees stated on the Website are inclusive (as is) and valid for one year from date of a member’s online application, as along as the membership fee has been sent by mail in a timely fashion to the Society mailbox, as indicated. This process eliminates any credit card information being submitted online.
1.3) Each member registration (user name and password) is for a single person only.
1.4) Responsibility for the security of any passwords issued rests with each member. If the password is suspected to have been compromised, please notify the Society immediately at.
1.5) Before you finalise the membership or subscription submission you will be asked to accept these Terms and Conditions. If you decline, your online application.and/or subscription cannot be accepted and the registration process will be terminated.
1.6) We will notify you when an application is successful.
1.7) At the end of your subscription year it will automatically terminate unless you have renewed your subscription.
1.8) We will alert you when your subscription is about to expire.
2. Membership and Resignation Policies
2.1) Payment of membership fees.
2.1.1) Cheque payments:
Please include your unique 'member number' on the check sent to the Society post office box.. This member numer is included in the notice e-mailed to you upon joining online.
2.1.2) Direct payments made online:
This will become possible in the future, but only check payments to THE ANTIBODY SOCIETY can be accepted at the present juncture.
2.2) Resignation.
A Member my resign at any time. Please notify the Society ASAP of this decision. Please include your unique 'member number' which was included in the notice e-mailed to you upon joining. Due to the modest membership dues for Society membership and the high cost of manually processing individual requests, no refunds will be made if a member chooses to resign.
3. Price and Payment
3.1) The current list of membership fees is indicated on the registration page of the website. Any changes in these fees will apply to dues in a subsequent year, and notice of these changes will be noted on the website no later than November 1st of a given year.
3.2) All prices stated are VAT exempt: The Antibody Society is a Massachusetts nonprofit corporation and has applied to the Internal Revenue Service for recognition as a 501(c)6 tax-exempt organization.
3.3) All prices shown on the Website are in USD.
3.4.) If it is impractical for new members outside the US to pay in dollars, the dues should be paid by check in the native currency of the new member, calculated according to the current exchange rate. At present this will not invole an additional banking charge.
4. Web Content and Copyright
4.1) Unless stated otherwise, the copyright and other intellectual property rights on all material on this Website are owned by The Antibody Society. Where The Antibody Society does not hold the Copyright, permission for reproduction on The Antibody Society website was obtained from the appropriate sources.
4.1.1) No part of The Antibody Society website may be reproduced without written permission of The Antibody Society or appropriate sources from which The Antibody Society obtained reproduction rights.
4.2) Incorporation of member contributions to web pages of The Antibody Society is subject to review prior to clearance for inclusion. This will involve review by the Acting Editor of the Website and additional reviewers, if necessary.
4.2.1) The Antibody Society will only consider member contributions when this is copyright free or is without any obligation to The Antibody Society.
5. Privacy - Security
5.1) Information collected from you, like contact details for email correspondence , will be used by The Antibody Society for administrative or other important purposes, e.g. maintaining contact regarding improvements in member benefits, notice of Society-sponsored workshops, meetings or symposia, or changes to The Antibody Society web site.
5.2) The means by which The Antibody Society will contact you will be e-mail and only in exceptional circumstances by meands of telephone or mail.
5.3) We will NEVER ASK FOR YOUR PASSWORD or CREDIT CARD NUMBER in our e-mails to you. Also you should never supply us by e-mail with your PASSWORD or CREDIT CARD NUMBER. Member USER ID numbers may be needed for certain purposes, but ideally this will be handled through secure website pages.
5.4) We will NEVER ADD ATTACHEMENTS to our e-mails to you. Likewise, you should never supply us with attachments when using e-mail unless it has been mutually prearranged.
5.5) Your information will not be given to third parties unless you have given consent upon joining to The Antibody Society. At any time this option can be changed by contacting us. Please include your unique 'member number' which was included in the membership notice emailed to you upon joining the Society.
5.6) The Antibody Society employs a secure connection (SSL) for submission of your membership information to our database. You should see ’https://’ in the browser address bar and, depending on the browser you use, there may be a padlock in the bottom left of the screen. Right clicking on the padlock will reveal the security certificate.
